Virgin America has named a jet plane after the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. The plane Airbus first flew in late 2011. “The “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish” aircraft name was actually submitted as a tribute to Mr. Jobs, by one of our employees, in an internal plane naming competition Virgin America spokesperson Abby Lunardini told CNET.
Virgin has a reputation for “tech-forward amenities” that they offer onboard, said Lunardini. It was the first carrier to offer fleetwide Wi-Fi in May 2009, and it recently unveiled a new in-flight entertainment system, due for a late 2012 consumer release.
