
This holiday season has been a good one with the exchanging of many electronic gifts. If you received a Kindle Fire this holiday season, you may have thought about rooting the device. Want to know how hard the process may be? Well lets just say it’s a one click process and here’s everything you need to know:
Open Command Prompt, type in “adb update usb” to get the “.android” folder to appear.
Requirements (Download’s):
- AndroidSDK (link)
- Latest SuperOneClick (link)
Procedure:
- Run SDKManager.exe (from Android SDK Install Directory), download the “google-usb_drivers package” from “3rd party tools”
- Download, Platform Tools also (Same way as in previous step)
- Open Command Prompt, type in “adb update usb” to get the “.android” folder to appear
- In Windows Explorer type in ” %USERPROFILE%\.android “
- Open file ”adb_usb.ini” with Notepad (any file editor)
- Add Following line at the end and SAVE

- Goto, directory where to installed Android SDK and Open google-usb_driver folder
- Edit “android_winusb.inf” file
- Add following lines to both [Google.NTx86] section and [Google.NTamd64] section

%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_1949&PID_0006
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_1949&PID_0006&MI_01
- Save and Close
- Turn ON, Apps from Unknown Sources ( On settings screen goto “DEVICE” and turn it “ON” )
- Now, plugin your KINDLE FIRE via USB
- Open command prompt and run adb kill-server then adb devices
- You shall see a device in the list
- RUN SuperOneClick and click “root”
- Congratulations you have rooted your Kindle Fire
