Amazon’s New Kindle Ready To Make It’s Android Intro

Amazon is entering a different tablet market now with it’s Kindle. Trust me, this is not the ordinary “kindle” that we’re used to. The new Kindle tablet has a 7 inch capacitive color display and will be running the Android OS.

The report was leaked over at TechCrunch, by MB Siegler, and was not allowed to leak any pictures of the tablet. Siegler did mention that the form factor of the new Kindle tablet is much like the Blackberry PlayBook, in size and shape.

Siegler also stated that “the device is a 7-inch tablet with a capacitive touch screen. It is multi-touch, but from what I saw, I believe the reports that it relies on a two-finger multi-touch (instead of 10-finger, like the iPad uses) are accurate. This will be the first Kindle with a full-color screen. And yes, it is back-lit. There is no e-ink to be found anywhere on this device.” –> Read more

Still Haven’t Ordered Your $99 HP Touchpad?

The truth is nobody wanted an HP Touchpad at $499. What does a company do to try and sell more product? They drop the price. A couple of weeks ago HP dropped the price by a hundred bucks to try and penetrate the tablet market. Did it work? Of course not, webOS is webOS.

Now what happens when you drop the tablet $400 from it’s original retail and charge $99 per tablet? Well you definitely get the sold out message or come accross a message that keeps saying the site is down. If you were like us, you saw a message that looked like this:

or like this:

Well the true reality is that everybody and their mom is on the site and will be for the next couple of days.

Here’s some steps if your still eagerly on the hunt:

  1. Use Mozilla Firefox (For some reason this browser acted a bit better than the others.
  2. Bookmark this link.
  3. Add the items to the cart.
  4. Keep in mind, your PC remembers what you have added… don’t be shy of clicking the refresh page whenever you get the errors.
  5. Most importantly… BE PATIENT

If you don’t need one immediately, HP has said that “More would be coming soon.” Don’t sweat it.

If you managed to get one, make sure you head over to BOX and signup for their latest offer. They stated that BOX has worked with HP “to bring 50GB of free cloud storage to TouchPad users, which lasts the lifetime of the Box account.”

P.S. We seriously think HP has been able to piss off every consumer that previously purchased a touchpad. Dear, HP… I wouldn’t expect those consumers to ever buy a product with your name on it again.

HP is offering refunds to those who purchased it within a 30-day window. If you’ve had it longer, take the beef up with HP.
