This tool will help you jailbreak your iPhone or iPad using the command prompt. Before you start, make sure you have updated your device and backup your content through iTunes. Make sure you unlock the device by typing in your personal passcode.

Necessary Steps

Step 1: Download CLI Absinthe for Windows and Mac OS X from here

Step 2: Unzip the folder named cinject_0.4.3 into the system folder, i.e. C:\

Step 3:  Now go to the start menu, click on run and type in cmd.exe .

Step 4: In the command window, type: CD C:\cinject_ 0. 4. 3 as shown to get into the folder.

Step 5: You’ll now need to execute CLI. Do this by typing: cinject.exe -i payloads\jailbreak. mobileconfig

After this, you will see a Profile prompt on your iPhone 4S or iPad, be sure to tap Install and then Next on the prompt on your iPhone 4S or
iPad 2 to accept the profile.

Step 6: Now execute cinject. exe -j payloads and wait for the backup.

Step 7: Now on your iPhone 4S , go to Settings >Network > VPN, and toggle the VPN setting to ON.

Step 8: Get in your device and tap on Absinthe icon. This will  start your Jailbreak and you will be done in few minutes.

After the Jailbreak is done Unlock your device and you will see cydia on your device.

This Jailbreak was released in the form of the tool named Absinthe. The dream team who had been working on this jailbreak had manged to fix the errors and now distributed the Jailbreak publicly. Before you start your jailbreak you should note that this jailbreak runs on only iPhone 4S running the iOS 5.0, iOS 5.0.1 (9A405 and 9A406) firmware and for iPad 2 users make sure that your firmware is set on 5.0.1.

• Now Download Absinthe A5 at this main link or mirror link.

• Remove your password from your device by going to Settings > General > Passcode Lock and Turn Passcode Off.

• Plug in your device and back up using iTunes(just in case).

• Open Absinthe and press Jailbreak with your device plugged in.

• Unplug your device and open the Absinthe app on your home screen. A black screen will appear and restart your phone.

In case your device displays a white screen showing “Error establishing a database connection” then Go to Settings, turn on VPN and wait. VPN should error and then it will reboot like normal.

• Once the jailbreak is complete, click the “Cydia” app that appears. follow the prompts and you are set. Congrats.

Note: This Jailbreak is out only for Mac Users Windows and Linux Users will have to wait few more hours.

Just wanted to make sure our readers were aware that the Redsnow 0.9.6rc15 jailbreak for Apple’s iOS 4.3.1 also works on the 4.3.3 firmware. Apple hasn’t seemed to cover up the loop hole that allows the hackers to use the same untethered jailbreak for a newer update. This untether isn’t ready for the iPad 2 yet but the list of devices it does work on is listed below.

  • iPod Touch 3G
  • iPod Touch 4G
