Apple said it is suspending iphone 4S sales in China to protect its staff. The crowed who queued in the freezing temprature was angry enough to start the Riot. It was noted that many in the crowed were not the normal customers but were workers put in place by resellers who wanted to buy up devices and sell them on at a profit. The angry customers also threw the eggs at the company’s flagship store in Beijing.
The same type of incident was observed when the iPad 2 went on sale in China. Regarding the incident Apple spokesperson said that the risk is too great forcing it to halt 4S sales for the time being.
The rumored event for late January in New York has been confirmed on 19th Jan at the Guggenheim Museum. Apple sent the invitation to the media claiming to have an “education announcement”. AllThingsD, the WSJ-owned blog that had spread the original rumor about Apple’s NYC event, has been told that “this is an effort in which Jobs had been involved with in the months prior to his death.
